MFStrategies is looking to hire a Campaign Finance Associate to help grow our presence by bringing new expertise to the firm.

About the Job

Reports to: Firm Principal
Level: Senior Management
Salary: $65,000
Start Date: Flexible, when the position is filled

MFStrategies is looking for an experienced political operative who is able to bring 3 to 5 campaign finance clients to the firm and assist in growing our brand and presence.

As a finance associate, you will be responsible for representing MFStrategies to prospective clients, leading client research efforts, generating leads, and play a key role in closing new contracts.

You will also service new and existing contracts, which will include building and implementing campaign finance plans for clients, managing candidate call time/follow-up, managing fundraiser logistics (host coordination, guest list development, RSVP tracking, processing contributions, pledge follow-up, etc.), and conducting relevant research for donor information.

We foster a collaborative working environment, so you will be working closely with our team of political professionals. We highly value your input on firm objectives and other contracts.

The position will begin as soon as possible to build for the 2024 cycle. We anticipate the position being paid between $60,000 and $70,000 per year, however, final compensation will be commensurate on portfolio and experience and may be different. Additionally, you’ll qualify for our incentive bonus program on any qualifying contracts that are signed after joining the company.

The position’s responsibilities will be based in your home geography.

About You

We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented, self-motivated campaign finance professional with 2+ prior cycles of campaign experience. Advanced knowledge of NGP 8 is required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel will be helpful and be sure to let us know if you have any experience writing computer code (any language). Familiarity using Large Language Models (ChatGPT, Bard, Claude, etc.), with a demonstrated ability to apply this technology to your work, is a plus.

Above all, be willing to learn new skills and be open to approaching common problems in new ways.

About Us

MFStrategies was founded in 2015 by Marty Santalucia as a way to develop new, exciting, and creative ways of helping progressive candidates and organizations achieve their goal of making an impact on the world. We have since grown to a team of four full-time staff, helped our clients raise tens of millions of dollars, and have never stopped looking for better ways to build winning campaigns.

One big thing that sets us apart is how we approach campaign work as a whole. We focus on fostering a healthy work environment where staff can maintain a work-life balance, even during the chaos of an election. We do the best work for our clients when we’ve got something to look forward to at the end of the day.

We’re proud of what we offer our team:

40 hour work weeks
Campaigners have this idea that good work can only be done by sitting at your desk for 12 hours a day, even if 6 of those hours are spent socializing or online. Rather than trying to outlast each other, we go home to get some actual rest. The work we do the next day is better for it.

Work from where you want
We ditched our formal office in 2017 and have been fully remote ever since. We encourage team members to work where and how they are most comfortable.

Open PTO policy
Campaign work is exhausting, which is why it is important to take time and recoup every once in a while. As long as everything is getting done, work should move around life — not the other way around.

Paid holidays
Vacations are great even when they’re just spent at home relaxing, and they give us all something to look forward to. We offer a number of paid holidays each year that are announced at the end of the previous year so everyone has the chance to maximize their hard-earned time off.

Competitive pay
Everyone’s time and effort is valuable so we make sure our staff is paid well for all the amazing work they do.
